Fueling Up Your Car
"Hit the road with confidence. Learn how to pump gas, check your tires, and pay at the station!"
Navigating the Station
Learn the essentials of refueling your vehicle.
When your car is running low on fuel, you need to pull up to a pump. Before you start, you must turn off your engine and remove the gas cap.
Most stations offer different grades of fuel. You can choose regular unleaded gas, or if you drive a high-performance car, you might need premium. Heavy trucks usually run on diesel fuel instead. Once you select the grade, you insert the nozzle into your car and squeeze the handle to fill up your tank.
While you wait, you can use a squeegee from the water bucket to clean the bugs and dirt off your windshield. It is also a good idea to check your tire pressure. If your tires are low on air, you can use the station's air compressor to inflate them.
When finished, you can pay directly at the machine with a credit card and print a receipt. If you want to pay with cash, or if you want to buy some snacks, you will need to go inside and pay the cashier.
